Los Angeles, California The highlights of the BOLD experience was the audience reaction to the play and the live transformation occuring infornt of my eyes during the talk back. People left the space starting a grassroot movement to helping women find their voice. Our talkback included a doctor, hospital midwife, homebirth midwife, and our director who is a doula that has been pratciting for the past 10 years and myself as the producer and DONA International's state rep for southern CA. We were talking about VBACS and the role of hospitals in birth, the decline in the options women have in birth, Doula care and how the profession evolved. Our doctor disclosed many interesting things about hospital policies… Most rewarding was seeing it all come together the day of performance and hear from people about the difference this performance made in their attitude towards birth! Yana Katzap-Nackman was the BOLD Organizer in Los Angeles. BOLD Los Angeles raised money for DASC and Childbirth Connection.
